Brian L. Bethel is the founder and Director of Interplay Counseling and Consultation Services. Brian is a Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor (PCC-S), a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC III), and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) with specialized training in counseling children, adolescents, and families. Brian earned a dual Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from Ohio University and is currently completing doctoral studies in Counselor Education and Supervision. With over twenty years of experience, Brian brings a diversity of clinical strengths to his counseling practice. He has dedicated much of his professional career to working with individuals impacted by trauma. Currently, Brian serves as the child and family therapist with The Child Protection Center of Ross County.
In addition to his counseling practices, Brian is an adjunct faculty member with Capella University. Additionally, is an independent trainer and consultant. He has provided consultation services to various schools, social service agencies, court systems, and foster care agencies. Brian serves as an independent trainer and consultant with the Ohio Child Welfare Program where he was recognized for his training excellence as a recipient of the “Rising Star” award in 2007 and the “Linda Pope” award in 2014. In 2018, Brian was also awarded an Award of Excellence in Research from the Association for Play Therapy. Brian also provides on-going educational trainings with Health Education Inc. He is recognized as an innovative, an exciting presenter on a local, state, national, and international level.
