Brian L. Bethel is a Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC-S), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC III), and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) with specialized training for counseling children, adolescents, and families. Brian received his undergraduate degree in Psychology as well as his Masters degree in Clinical Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from Ohio University. Currently, Brian is completing a PhD. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Ohio University.
Brian has dedicated much of his professional experience to providing counseling services to individuals impacted by trauma. As a therapist for The Child Protection Center of Ross County, Brian continues to provide counseling services to individuals impacted by abuse and neglect. He was one of the first Registered Play Therapist Supervisors in southern, Ohio and has authored a number of publications regarding the use of play therapy with a variety of mental health diagnoses. Brian also operates a small private practice where he offers general counseling services.
In addition to his counseling practices, Brian serves as an independent trainer and consultant. He has served as a professional consultant to a number of foster care agencies, schools, residential centers, and court programs. He also serves as an independent trainer and consultant for the Ohio Child Welfare Program where he was recognized for his training excellence and was awarded the “Rising Star” trainer of the year award in 2007. Brian has been selected to facilitated educational workshops throughout the United States and Europe.
